What GeoScout is for
Amazon holds a record of every address it delivers to: where the entrance is, how to reach the door, which access code opens the gate. When that record is wrong, deliveries fail — a driver cannot find the entrance, or arrives to find the way in is somewhere other than the map says.
GeoScout is the application Amazon Field Quality Associates use to put that right. It gives them the day's list of addresses where deliveries have been unsuccessful, navigates them to each one, and provides the forms to record what is actually there, with photographs as evidence. Those corrections flow back into Amazon's address and map records, so the next delivery to that address goes better.
Who uses it
Field Quality Associates, who are Amazon employees. GeoScout is a work tool, not a consumer application: signing in requires an Amazon employee account, and the app shows no work until a route has been assigned in Amazon's geospatial systems. It is of no use without both.
What it does
- Presents the addresses assigned for the day, with their delivery history.
- Navigates to each address, including turn-by-turn guidance.
- Records a property survey: what is there, where the access points are, what is wrong.
- Attaches photographs as evidence for each correction.
- Submits the result into Amazon's geospatial systems.
